The room lock didn't work properly, so I never felt sure about security. The mattress was stained and uncomfortable, and the shared facilities were filthy. There was just one shower, with no curtain or screen, and two toilets on each of the four floors. During my three days there, they weren't cleaned. I saw the same plastic bag in the shower each morning. Wi-Fi wasn't free as advertised. Even after paying, coverage was unreliable, and the top two floors had none. This was easily the worst hotel I've stayed in across Europe. I can't recommend it, and there should be a zero-star option. I'd pay extra to stay somewhere else.

We ended up leaving and finding another hotel, so thank goodness our booking had free cancellation. Otherwise, we would've paid for all three nights. We used the hotel's internet to look for a decent place in a decent neighbourhood, and found one with a score of 8. It cost more, but that's how bad this place was. It took me hours to find the hotel, and the area seemed really dirty and unpleasant. We arrived at 12 p.m. and were told to wait two hours, even though rooms were apparently ready. They gave us a key to go look at a room ourselves, which felt odd for a receptionist to do. The room smelled awful, and there was no air conditioning. The shared shower had no hot water. They then offered us another room that smelled better, but the towels and blankets were dirty, so we left. Don't stay here.

We lost the money and found another hotel the next morning. The room was small, which I could've lived with, but the bathroom and shower were in the hallway. I was afraid to take photos at first. When I did take one of the toilet, it looked like someone had fired a poop shotgun. The curtains had white stains all over them, and the place looked like a whorehouse. It's near a metro, though Paris has easy transport everywhere. This was in a rough part of the city. Good luck with the showers, that's all I've got to say.

For a small budget and just a roof over your head, this place might do. It was cheap for Paris and in a really good location, close to the Metro, authentic little shops and cafés, and away from tourists. For anything more than that, I'd avoid it. My girlfriend and I stayed two nights, and it was an adventure. The bed was dirty, the doors and walls were so thin that we heard everything from the other rooms on our floor, and the toilet, one per level, was pretty dirty. Staff could barely understand a bit of English, and construction work had left the lobby in a big mess.
