Hôtel Basss

The beds were spectacularly comfortable, the sort you sink into after a long day walking around Paris and wake up rested. Hotel Bass in Montmartre felt calm and intimate, and the location in the neighborhood was just right. The rooms are beautifully done, cozy but stylish. I’ll definitely try to stay there again when I come back.

There’s plenty of seating both indoors and out, plus a coffee machine, fresh fruit, and a water machine. The staff at every level were great, and the place was clean and right on a main street, with cafes, restaurants, a butcher, and a boulangerie all an easy walk away. The rooms are spacious and spotless, with a good shower and comfortable mattress and pillows. The French door windows open wide for fresh air and street views, but do a good job blocking noise. Breakfast was a good buffet.

Mathilde at reception was especially helpful and arranged an airport taxi for us, replacing the train plan we’d originally made. It’s a great spot, surrounded by shops and restaurants and only a short walk from Sacré Coeur. The hotel has tasteful decor, is clean, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was a pleasant buffet. This was my second visit, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.

As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and comfortable here. The room was small, as is common in Paris, but clean, well maintained, nicely decorated, and had everything I needed for a short stay. I also loved the location, with cute restaurants, cafes, and vintage stores all around. I plan to return.
