Hôtel Opera Dieppe

I spent 10 days in Paris and stayed at three different hotels without any trouble at the other two. This was the only one that caused a problem. I booked at the last minute after walking in, and paid what they called a “guarantee” after being told I could inspect the room first. When I came back a couple of hours later, the room smelled of cigarettes and was extremely noisy, so I decided not to stay. They then said the payment was nonrefundable. I had to dispute it with my credit card company, and I still don’t know whether I’ll get the money back. Awful hotel and awful service. Stay away!

The room was okay, but there were no curtains or blinds. Noise from outside and neighboring rooms was far too loud. Also, the elevator only starts on the first floor, so you have to carry your bags up one flight before you can use it.

It’s been a lot of years, but I remember a reasonably priced, smaller hotel that was perfectly fine. I especially enjoyed chatting with the staff later in the evening.

Recently renovated, with a nice wooden floor and a clean bathroom. The place is tiny and very basic, but it has what you need and the quality is spot on for the low price.
