Hotel Santana

Malta was far too hot to manage without air conditioning, and neither room had working AC. After it failed in our first room, we paid another 185 euros to move to a suite, only to find it was just as useless there. Staff weren't helpful. They said reception controlled it and switched it on at night, but it still didn't work. If you need air conditioning, choose somewhere else.

We've been living here for over four years, my mother and I, and nothing has been properly resolved despite several complaints. There are cockroaches in the room regularly and mice too. The rooms and walls are dirty, hygiene is terrible, and there's no real disinfection or follow-up. You can hear everything through the poor soundproofing. When we raise problems, instead of getting help we're sometimes told to “stop being a drama queen.” Reception staff can be dismissive and aggressive. Google reviews describe the same things, and some guests have had to deal with it for just one night. Imagine living with it for years. It's become unbearable and feels dangerous to our health and well-being. There's no accountability from management, and customers aren't treated with respect. I hope management and the franchisees finally take this seriously.

I'm here for work and have been staying for two days. The rooms are filthy, with cockroaches everywhere, and the soundproofing is awful. You can hear other people as clearly as they can hear you, which leaves no privacy. I'm finishing this stay, but I won't return. There are much better hotels nearby.

There's no proper hot water, just scalding or freezing. The mattress felt like it had been picked up off the street, and the whole hotel is dingy. It should've been shut down ages ago. Avoid it and run.
