Hôtel Villa Romantic & SPA

The staff at Villa Romantic & Spa made the stay pleasant. They were welcoming, kind, and always ready to help. Getting around was easy too, with buses and the metro nearby, plus a grocery store and a nice boulangerie/patisserie close by. The main issue for me was the noise. On one morning, something that sounded like pipes woke me around 6 a.m. On another, around 5 a.m., there was a long stretch of loud tapping that seemed to come from outside the wall. I could also hear the room above and traffic from the street. Once I got back to sleep, things were fine. The spa area was a nice feature, though the pool is very small. Some of the lining along the sides and bottom, which looked a bit like linoleum, had come loose in places. It wasn't a major problem, but it did give a slightly neglected impression.

The staff were really friendly, the cleaning was great, and breakfast was lovely. A few things in the room were a bit damaged: there was a crack in the sink, the small bathroom mirror wasn't fixed to the wall properly, and paint was peeling off the shower drain. They replaced the drain the night before I left. Apart from those things, it was a very good stay.

I booked at the last minute with my two kids, aged 7 and 10, and as a solo parent I felt they were welcomed in such a gentle, easy way. The family pool and spa times are set, so we booked our slot ahead. That actually made it relaxing, knowing when we'd use them. The kids loved the pool and little gym; I enjoyed the sauna and steam room. They also watched the huge TV and had sweets from reception. Our room was spacious, comfortable, had air con, and everything seemed pretty new. The hotel is a little way from the centre, but I liked being able to unwind there after busy days. The staff were warm, kind, and so helpful. We felt very well looked after. Breakfast was a generous buffet with beans, sausages, ham, cheese, cereal, bread, pastries, yogurt, and fresh coffee. There was a Nespresso machine in our room too. I'd absolutely recommend it if you need a place to relax, especially if you're on your own with kids.

It was my first stay here, and the poor service left me with a bad impression. The staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. I reported a problem with my room, but nothing was done and nobody offered to move me. I asked several times to speak to the manager, but he was never available. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
