Villa Saxe Eiffel

My room had a direct view of the Eiffel Tower, even from the bathroom. The hotel is modern, and the rooms are huge. It's right in the heart of Paris, and I had an amazing stay. I'd definitely recommend it if you want a great experience in the city.

We had a good time here. The staff were friendly and accommodating every time we spoke with them, and the hotel has a charming feel with a nicely decorated lobby. There's a street market right outside on Thursdays and Saturdays, with a convenience store, bakery, and cafe nearby. The location is decent, about a 20-minute walk from livelier parts of Paris or the Eiffel Tower. The bathroom layout means shower water gets all over the floor. Also, the room had no mini fridge, and I couldn't find anywhere to get ice. They said the fridges had been removed for environmental reasons. If you need to store food, you have to leave it with the front desk and ask for it later. To heat it up, you use a microwave in a small staff room. It works, but isn't ideal. I'm not sure what makes a Paris hotel four-star, but that setup didn't feel like it. I'd recommend staying here if you can find a decent price.

There was still takeout packaging left in the room from the previous guests, and one of our towels was stained when we arrived. The next morning, I ate salmon at breakfast and felt sick for the rest of the day. I wouldn't recommend it.

Our Jr. Suite suited our American needs perfectly, and getting to the metro and nearby restaurants was easy. The area was quiet, with a Thursday and Saturday outdoor market, a top-notch boulangerie, and a corner market just down the street. We stayed at Villa Saxe Eiffel for several days in mid-October, and the room was comfortable and the staff excellent. I'd book this hotel again in a moment.
