Hotel Impérial Paris

I booked this nice three-star hotel to save money, and I quite liked it. The room was actually bigger than some four-star hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. It had a table with two chairs, a writing desk and chair, a bathtub, kettle, fridge, and an iron and ironing board. The bed and pillows were comfortable, though the blanket was too warm for me. There was also a great view of the grand synagogue right across from the hotel.

The staff were really kind, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. It’s in a quiet area, with metro stations very close by. Most attractions are also within walking distance if you like walking.

The room was small but comfortable, and the bathroom was well kept with hot water when needed. Every evening when we returned, the room had been cleaned and fresh towels put out. It’s in a business district that we felt was safe late at night. There wasn’t much more we could have expected from a hotel.

We were put at Hotel Imperial Paris after my girlfriend had originally booked a different hotel. On our second night, the owner and concierge were waiting in the lobby and said we needed to pay for the room, even though the full amount had been charged to our credit card two days earlier. They’d blocked our key cards, so we couldn’t get to our things. The situation felt extremely uncomfortable and almost threatening. Any payment issue should have been handled between the two hotels, rather than directed at us. I’m glad I didn’t pay again, or I’d have been charged twice. This was unprofessional and unfriendly to guests, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. It’s no way to treat people staying there.
