Hôtel Little Regina

The location is convenient for trains and the metro, with views of Gare de l’Est from the rooms. Despite facing the main station, the rooms are well insulated from noise. Staff were friendly, and a hairdryer was available, which I appreciated. Cleanliness and upkeep need work. There was a dark stain on the toilet seat, a leaking sink, and a dirty floor under it. The shower is in the bathtub with no curtain, so the bathroom floor gets completely soaked. The pillows were extremely thick and uncomfortable, gave me neck pain, and left me sleeping without one. Housekeeping didn’t leave towels, and bathroom supplies were very limited. Breakfast was typically French with few food options, though drinks were plentiful and unlimited. During our two-night stay, towels and soap were missing on the second day. We had to ask after a long, tiring day, but staff then gave us more than enough. There’s good access to trains and the metro, but the hotel needs clear improvement in cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail.

We stayed in hotels all over Europe for 3+ weeks, and this was by far the worst experience. The rooms were small, the building was old, and the elevator was small. The hallways smelled musty and were full of smoke. There was street noise, no air conditioning, dirt and dust under the beds, and bed bugs. Staff were rude. There was also no protection for our luggage if we left it before check-in. They never replied to our multiple requests, answered our straightforward questions, or gave us simple information we needed for travel plans. Avoid this run down brothel. Pay a little more for a professional hotel.

The room was very clean, and the beds were nice, though the rooms are on the small side. The location was very good, with a metro and train station close by, which made getting around easy. The staff were friendly too.

The staff made the stay for us. They were lovely and flexible, even agreeing straight away when we asked for an early breakfast, and we also got a free room upgrade. Breakfast had a nice range of tasty options, and the price felt very fair. Hotel Little Regina has been renovated recently, so the room and bathroom felt new and clean, with good sound insulation. Its location is handy too, close to the station and within walking distance of Canal St. Martin and Faubourg St. Denis for food, bars, and nightlife. By European standards, it really does feel like a 3-star hotel. We’d happily come back.
