Lux Hotel Picpus

We booked at the last minute for a weekend away, so our expectations weren't high, and we ended up having a really pleasant stay. The staff were polite and seemed impeccably trained. They kindly upgraded us to the superior room when we arrived. Our room was clean and bright, with a lovely view of the street. It's outside the bustle of the city center, but easy to reach by metro and well placed for the wonderful neighborhoods of the 11th arrondissement and the Marais. My boyfriend and I would certainly stay here again.

The room barely has any space, and the chargers in it don't work. The website says checkout is at 12 am, which is misleading. There are plenty of reasons to avoid this place. Don’t go here.

We stayed four days and would come back. The staff were kind, the street view from our fifth-floor room was nice, and the price felt fair. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, even late, and the location itself caused us no problems. The rooms and bathroom are small, though the bathroom could be cleaner, and in the mornings we heard a lot from the hallways. There’s no hotel garage; the nearby one is expensive at about 4 euros an hour or 32 euros for a day. Street parking is free after 8 pm and on Sundays.

Coming back after long days of sightseeing was really nice. The hotel felt cozy, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean. I was especially glad to have a mini fridge in the room, and I liked the clean, modern bathroom. The metro and bus stops are close by, and the location was great. The walls are pretty thin, so we heard quite a bit of noise, though it didn’t bother me personally. I can see how it might annoy some people. I don’t really understand the bad ratings; we had everything we needed, and I’d recommend the hotel.
