Hôtel Michelet Odeon

The staff were pleasant and helpful, except they couldn’t resolve a technology problem in the room: the TV wouldn’t support streaming. The rooms were clean, but very small, with no place to rest apart from the bed and barely any storage beyond a small cubby. The beds and linens were clean but worn and uncomfortable, so it was hard to relax in the room. It may suit travelers with modest needs or expectations, but anyone looking for moderate comfort could be disappointed, especially at nearly €300 a night. The hotel itself is fine, though I find its average rating misleading and the price out of line with the amenities we experienced.

The area felt close to everything, yet it was so quiet. Staff were very nice and helpful, and I had a comfortable bed and a surprisingly roomy shower. For Paris, where prices are wild, the room size and location felt very fair for the cost. It’s a great hotel for the price.

We were close to good restaurants and bars, but just far enough from the really busy streets. The room was small but lovely, and the location was perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive. I was overwhelmed trying to choose a hotel for our honeymoon in Paris, and I’m so glad we picked this one.

The bathroom was glamorous, with a rich marble design, and it came stocked with soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, a shower cap, shoe shine sponge, paper cups, and plenty of toilet roll. Our ground-floor room was spacious, and the windows kept outside noise out. I can’t remember the room number, but I’d recommend booking one on the ground floor. All the staff were friendly and funny, and we had such a great stay. I only wish the bathroom door had a lock. We’ll visit again.
