Paris Oasis

I first stayed at Paris-Oasis in 2015, when a friendly couple welcomed me. I remembered the warmth, comfort, and real home-like feel for years, so I chose the guest house again without hesitation. This time was deeply disappointing. The place has changed beyond recognition. The old warmth and charm are gone, replaced by cold formality, and it feels lifeless. The new manager, Alexis, came across as artificial, with friendliness that seemed forced and hospitality that felt superficial and businesslike. The homely atmosphere I valued has disappeared. I also felt that Alexis paid me too much attention. He often came to my room for various reasons, even when it wasn't necessary, and any question I sent on WhatsApp would lead to a visit. It got so uncomfortable that I stopped asking for help to avoid drawing his attention. I came alone to relax, but the constant intrusions left me uneasy and without privacy. Cleaning was poor too. There was dirt and dust in less visible spots, and some areas looked as if they hadn't been cleaned for months or even years. Paris-Oasis has lost the soul I once loved. It now seems to put formality and commercialism ahead of caring for guests. It's sad to see a once warm, distinctive place become such a disappointment.

Alexis, the building manager and owner, was very helpful with sightseeing and restaurant suggestions. The flat had everything we needed, including a kitchen stocked with more than enough for our three days. The location was very convenient, and we had a wonderful stay in Paris. I'd recommend it, especially for anyone wanting a more authentic experience than a large chain hotel.

After six or seven trips to Paris, I finally found a place that suited me at Paris Oasis. I usually end up in small hotel rooms or apartments, which have always been my main disappointment. This apartment has plenty of space, is well furnished, and Alexis has paid attention to the details. He welcomed us warmly, with several complimentary drinks in the fridge. It's in northern Paris, where there's less tourist bustle apart from Sacre Couer, so you get more of a local feel. And after long days walking around the city, the heated indoor pool is a great place to unwind. A big five stars.

Alexis is a generous, kind, and informative host. This guest house is great value for a family, in an incredible part of Paris. We couldn't have asked for more, and staying here is one reason we've fallen in love with Paris.
