SO/ Paris Hotel

The location worked especially well for us. Sully-Morland on line 7 is a one-minute walk away, and Quai de la Rapée and Bastille are about five minutes on foot for other lines. Le Marais and the Latin quarter are walkable too. Even at rush hour, we never needed more than 30 minutes on the metro to get to anywhere we wanted to visit. We spent 6 nights at So Paris for our anniversary and came away with only good things to say. Wilson, the bellman, gave us a very friendly welcome, helped with our bags, and showed us to the room after check-in. He remembered our names the whole stay, which was a lovely personal touch. Our standard room faced northeast over the Paris rooftops. It was very clean, a good size for Paris, and had plenty of storage for clothes and suitcases. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had a large shower and was well equipped, and there were lots of plugs plus USB and USB-C ports. I’d left my phone charger on the flight, and the cable I asked for was brought up quickly at no charge. We’d happily stay again. If you want a stylish hotel in a handy spot with personal service, this is a great choice.

The view after our incredible upgrade was stunning, and there was a thoughtful gift waiting in the room. SO Paris made our first Paris trip feel unforgettable, starting with such a warm check-in. The guest experience team kept finding ways to make the stay special, and we loved the little treats at turndown each night. We’ll definitely come back!

The staff were kind and so helpful throughout our two weeks. Jesus the porter greeted us with a smile every day and helped with the bags, which had quadrupled in weight after all our shopping. The pastry chef made us a delicious cake and dessert for our anniversary, and we really appreciated the thoughtful card from the staff. The lobby cafe team were lovely too. We enjoyed the coffee and drinks while flipping through the fun, trendy books on modern design and fashion. I was sorry there weren’t any books about or by Agrippa D’Aubigné, the famous Huguenot the street is named for. We ate at Bonnie on the fifteenth floor for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it was wonderful. The staff were great and offered us a table on the terrace, though we declined because of my vertigo. The view across Paris is unforgettable. There’s a busy nightclub and a separate bar on the top floor, both with gorgeous panoramic views, and the staff there were amazing as well. The hotel is in a quiet spot, but there’s lots within walking distance: Place des Vosges, the Latin Quarter, île de la cité, île saint Louis, village Saint Paul, the Seine River, Canal Saint Martin, Gare de Lyon, and the Bastille Opera house, where we saw a couple of performances. Sully metro is a minute away. There’s also a nearby Franprix and a pharmacy on Blvd. Henri IV with a very kind pharmacist. The modern hotel is clean, with a large room and a very comfortable king bed. The building, especially the lobby, will appeal to anyone who likes modernist design. It’s joined to another modern building with beautiful arches and curves. Hard to believe it used to be a police headquarters, though that somehow feels fitting for Paris. For a lovely stay in a great location, this hotel is hard to beat. We’re looking forward to coming back.

I love this hotel. The staff and service make it feel like they really want you to have a great stay, and the room and its views were fantastic. Ours looked out in two directions, so we could take in the Paris skyline. Breakfast at the top was delicious, and the setting was breathtaking. The neighborhood is lovely for strolling around and browsing the small shops and bakeries. Thanks for such a pleasant visit. I’ll definitely return.
