Sweet Inn - Monsigny

The location was great, and we really enjoyed staying in this lovely, well-kept apartment. It had three bedrooms and was on the third floor. Everything was maintained well and felt premium quality.

The rooms were clean and the location was great, but the elevator wasn’t working and we hadn’t been told when booking. With five adults, two small children, and lots of luggage, that was a major problem. We had to carry the kids up a narrow staircase to the fifth floor each day, and hauling 25 kg suitcases up and down was exhausting. The room and bathroom doors wouldn’t close properly, so we had to make sure nobody could accidentally walk in when someone was using the bathroom. One en-suite bathroom had a persistent sewer smell that didn’t go away even after we aired it out. One person in our group arrived early and found the elevator out of service. The host hadn’t shared the key box code ahead of time, so he carried the luggage upstairs and then back down, and waited more than 20 minutes for the host to send it. It felt like the code had been withheld on purpose so guests wouldn’t discover the broken elevator before check-in. Since we had clearly booked for five adults and two toddlers, the host should have told us in advance that the elevator wasn’t working. That would have significantly affected our decision. It might suit young, fit people sharing an Airbnb, but it’s not suitable for families with children or older guests carrying heavy luggage when the elevator is out. I gave one star for the location and cleanliness, but for the price, a nearby hotel would probably have been a better choice.

The location was the only good thing. I can’t believe anyone leaves positive feedback for this place. The bathroom stinks, the sofa bed is filthy, and every surface is sticky. The entry process is ridiculous. The digital locks didn’t work, and we were left without a physical key, so once we got into the room we couldn’t leave and get back in. They offered to sort it out tomorrow, when half our stay would be over. Technology is only useful when it works, and app-based hotels like this are a waste of time. Next time I’ll book somewhere with real people to look after customers.

There’s loads of space, and lots of places are close enough to walk to, so the location is great too.
