WS Opéra - Galeries Lafayette

I was meant to spend a weekend in Paris, but arrived late on a Friday to a very small, poorly maintained apartment. I'm not fussy, but the sheets were dirty, with hair and yellow marks, and hadn't even been ironed. Customer service couldn't help, and their English wasn't very good, so I left after less than 30 minutes and booked a nearby hotel because I was tired. I asked for a full refund the next day. A month later, I'm still waiting. They offered €20, calling it a cleaning fee, then today offered €80 and asked me to remove my Booking review. As you can imagine, this is one of several reviews I'll write.

After a long wait, I finally got access to the apartment at 7pm on the first day of my booking, four hours late. Before that, they hadn't given me any way to enter and didn't answer my emails or calls asking for help. Inside was a complete mess: the bed was unmade, towels were wet, rubbish hadn't been emptied, and the sink was full of dishes. They said there were no other rooms, so I had to book another hotel at my own expense. They promised by phone and email to refund me, but now, two weeks later, they ignore my emails and haven't returned the money. I have to go to my bank to explain that WS Opera accommodation has taken my funds and ask them to reverse the transaction. This was the worst accommodation experience of my life. Avoid booking this hotel at all costs.

The location is the one good thing. You can walk to any famous tourist attraction in about 10 minutes. The flats seem to have been carved out of one huge apartment, and the rooms are so tiny they smell terrible. I can't explain the smell, but you'll need to keep the windows open for fresh air. There's black mold on the bathroom walls.

I picked these apartments because the location was good, but the place was too small and not very clean. I asked for the towel change they requested, but nobody came. After my negative Booking review, the manager canceled my reservation, apparently to get that review canceled too. Completely unacceptable behavior. Clean the apartments properly and stop using this dishonest way to boost ratings!
