Jarry

The bed was the worst I’ve slept on. It sagged badly in the middle, had no spring to it, and kept rolling me toward my husband. The room was tiny, with nowhere to put anything. Carrying our bags to the second floor was extremely difficult on the spiral stairs, which had a wobbly railing. Being close to the train station was about the only upside. The area felt a bit dodgy, though I’ve stayed in worse. Breakfast was very basic, but the coffee was hot and strong. I wouldn’t stay there again.

I was pleasantly surprised by Jarry, despite all the negative reviews. It’s a budget place, actually the cheapest we could find in Paris, but it felt friendly, safe, and quiet. You can leave your bags in the bar on departure day, which is another plus. I’d recommend it.

Some staff were kind, while others were rude, and service was slow. They say reception is open 24 hours, but the doors are shut around midnight and they get mad if you want to come in. The rooms were small but mostly clean. Our room was on the sixth floor, and the hotel was small and hard to get around in.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Jarry. Our room was clean and had a balcony view. The staff were kind and brought fresh towels each day. The price was good for the location, with nice local bars and food spots and the metro nearby. :)
