Hotel Le Relais du Marais

At checkout, we asked to leave our luggage since we were heading out of Paris a few hours later. The man at reception said the luggage room was full of garbage and showed it to us with a sigh. His behavior was rude and really over the line, which made an already disappointing experience worse. The rooms were old and dirty, and nothing like the pictures. Terrible experience. Never again.

The breakfast was described as free, but that turned out to be a trap. Communication from the receptionist was unclear, too. The hotel and its facilities were old and dirty, the rooms were dated, and some of them smelled. The place also had a moldy smell. It didn’t look like the pictures on Booking.com or the hotel website. Please don’t go there.

The location made everything easy, with restaurants, pharmacies, a supermarket, and the metro station right nearby. At the hotel, the staff were consistently kind, and the rooms were cleaned every day. We slept really well: the bed was super comfortable and nights were quiet. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee and juice at reception. Excellent stay, highly recommend!

On our first night, we found a cockroach in the bed frame, and the hotel didn’t take responsibility. The room photos were misleading, and the smell at reception was horrendous.
