Villa Vesone

The owners were charming and attentive, and the rooms were comfortable with refined decor. We spent one night in this lovely house, which is ideally placed for exploring Périgueux on foot. We highly recommend Villa Vésone.

We felt as if friends had welcomed us into their home, and we're already looking forward to another stay at Villa Vésone. The villa is a beautiful, remarkably well-kept house, ideally located in Périgueux and renovated with impeccable taste. The welcome was warm but discreet. The hosts respect your privacy and are happy to chat if you want to.

Breakfast was a real highlight: fresh fruit salad, delicious croissants, crusty bread, farm-style ham, unusual cheeses, and jams. The couple at breakfast with us, my wife is English and knows a thing or two about breakfast, also ordered tempting scrambled eggs. We passed because we'd eaten the night before at Le Seizième, where we introduced ourselves as guests of the Monteils. The house itself is a magnificent 19th-century bourgeois residence, restored over ten years. The decor is a delight: they balance the woodwork and deep-colored paint with antiques, quirky objects, cameras, and typewriters. Even the photo of the Rat Pack playing billiards suits the billiard room. Our room was spacious and elegant, with a charming classic bathroom set apart from it. The location is strategic, close to the city center, with a parking lot generously provided by the owners. The private hospital is across the street, for the pessimists and hypochondriacs among us. There's also a swimming pool, a welcome sight in the city during summer. Be ready for some serious climbing when carrying luggage. The couple's kindness was discreet but efficient, and the place is beautiful in a picturesque town. A stop I'd highly recommend, and not to be missed.

The guesthouse is only a two-minute walk from the city center, with free parking, a pool, and a gym on site. The owners gave us a warm, personal welcome and were attentive throughout. Rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated, and breakfast was generous, with fresh, local, homemade food. Excellent value for money. A must-stay in Périgueux!
