We had a great few days in a nice, cozy apartment with everything we needed. The location is fantastic, only a five-minute walk from the city center. The neighborhood is a bit run-down, like city centers can be, and getting into the apartment is tricky because the stairs are narrow and steep. We were looked after well when we arrived, and the explanation of how everything worked was much appreciated.

The host got in touch, and everything went smoothly. The place was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. It’s near the city center, with easy parking. We stayed a few days and loved it. Highly recommended. Just keep in mind there’s no elevator.

The stairs are the main concern here: the apartment is on the fifth floor with no elevator, and they’re narrow and uneven. They could be dangerous for clumsy people and aren’t a good fit for anyone with luggage, children, or reduced mobility. Inside, the bedroom is uncomfortable enough that if two people share it, one has to get in feet first. The terrace apartment can also feel claustrophobic. There are some good features. The terrace is pleasant and well insulated, which helped with the wind. The TV is large and has the main streaming platforms, while the kitchen-living area has good equipment, including an adjustable table, dishwasher, and washing machine. The bathroom is complete and the decor is nice. But cleanliness was by far the worst issue. There was hair in the shower, bits of aluminum foil and other random items on the headboard, and personal hygiene products left by previous guests. With better cleaning, it could be a good option despite the stairs.

The apartment itself was attractive and nicely decorated, though small. It had what we needed for a couple of days, but it was very basic. Ours had only a microwave, small fridge, and coffee maker, with no washing machine, dishwasher, or oven. There wasn’t even one complimentary coffee capsule. We also had no dishcloth, dish towels, or garbage bags, not even a spare. The sponge was very worn, and during our two-night stay we ran out of toilet paper because the roll supplied was already half used. With all we’ve been through with COVID, a basic cleaning kit with a cloth and sponge would have been appreciated and wouldn’t cost much. We arrived at 5 pm without an entry code. After contacting Booking.com, we waited a while for a woman, presumably from cleaning, to come down. She spoke neither Spanish nor English, so we couldn’t communicate. We were on the third floor, and the narrow hallway-like stairs felt endless with all our luggage. There’s no elevator. The toilet was in a small alcove, separate from the sink and shower, which were behind another doorway. I’ve stayed in better apartments. It wasn’t bad for a night or two, but there wasn’t much to be impressed by, especially with a 9.4 rating. You arrive expecting more and then notice little things like those missing supplies.

I almost fell on the stairs coming down from the fifth floor. They don’t meet international and technical standards for seniors, and this old building feels like it’s waiting to be demolished. I won’t return, and the price of 80 euros a night is exorbitant for what you get. I had to keep repeating that I’d take care of the keys and asking them to stop bothering the customers. There are key boxes to the right as you leave the building, and a mailbox upstairs. I handed over the keys. It isn’t complicated, though anyone could pull off your old mailbox. In my view, you make enough money to renovate. Please stop lying to people. I recommend Booking.com, which handles the reservations, sends inspection services, and takes appropriate measures. Thank you.
