Hotel Beaudon

I didn’t stay at the hotel, but the restaurant is very traditional and very good. It’s just a short walk from the chateau.

Right in the center of Pierrefonds, this is a beautiful, cosy hotel in a great location. Its restaurant serves food made with local ingredients and a local touch, with care and attention to detail. The service team was outstanding, and it’s a perfect place to stay overnight.

I stayed at the hotel for five days. The view from my room was amazing, but I wasn’t so happy with the room itself. It felt more like an old building than an authentic one. The place next to the hotel is well worth a visit: the food is delicious, it’s not too expensive, and the waitress speaks English very well. Phone reception in the area isn’t very strong. It wasn’t as bad in the village, but while travelling between villages I often had signal problems. It wasn’t a bad stay, though I thought Le Regent in Viller-Cotterets was a slightly better choice.

My girlfriend and I spent a whole week there last summer, even though I was a little wary of staying so long in a town I’d never heard of. It ended up being our favourite place in Europe. Seeing the castle in Pierrefonndes was a very different experience from visiting castles in bigger cities: it was quiet, uncrowded and didn’t feel rushed. At hotel beaudon, the staff were incredibly friendly and helped us find a ride when we needed one. If you go, I strongly recommend the restaurant under the hotel and the tiramisu, if they still have it. I’m going to try to make it there for our anniversary tomorrow because we loved it so much.
