Aparthotel Adagio & Spa Vannes

The hotel is a little outside the city, but getting into the centre was easy even without a car: the bus stop right by the hotel gets you there in 15/20 minutes. We stayed with our 19-month-old, and the cot and bath they provided for her were a big help. There’s a good range of sweet and savoury food at breakfast, plus great facilities, including pools, a gym, and a little kids’ play area. The apartments are spacious and have everything you need for a short stay.

After a long day driving up from the south of France, the great shower and beds were just what we needed. The hotel was spacious and really clean, and the kids loved it so much they wanted to stay longer. We had a lovely stopover. The pool was great too, and so was the customer service. Thank you!

There was dirt on the floor near the elevator for all three days we were there. On our last morning, the woman at the desk told us breakfast was included, but then came out to our car later to say we had to pay for it. That left a bitter taste. Our room smelled like an ashtray when we arrived, especially the toilet. I felt like throwing up when I had to use it. They had no other room available then, and I didn’t feel they tried to make it up to us. Changing rooms the next day would have been too late anyway.

The pool was dirty, with hair and debris floating in it, and the jacuzzi wasn’t working properly. Staff said there were no pool rules because people come to relax, but we were on holiday too. Some guests swam with their long hair down, which made things unpleasant for those of us following the rules. The pool table was broken, tilted to one side, and dusty. It would only take a minute to vacuum it. We came on holiday with another couple. At first, we were impressed when we arrived, but the stay quickly became a nightmare. A leak in our bathroom ceiling dripped for hours, and by 8 a.m. the next morning it had got worse. When we complained about the room, a staff member brushed us off with, “I can’t give you a room,” and made no effort to help. It felt like he’d already decided we didn’t qualify for an upgrade or another place to stay, possibly because of where we come from. I’ve travelled a lot around France and the EU and have never had such poor hospitality or treatment. I can’t recommend this place. The experience was horrible and left us extremely disappointed.
