Manoir de Belle Fontaine

The garden is such a peaceful, flower-filled place to sit and unwind, with birdsong all around. We were welcomed so warmly at this magnificent manor house, and breakfast was truly sumptuous. We even got to take home some of the homemade honey.

Pontrieux is nearby and has a couple of bakeries, a supermarket, a weekly market, and some nice souvenir shops for picking up supplies. It's about a half-hour walk, though, so having a car is probably best. Historic towns and all kinds of beautiful beaches are within a 30- to 45-minute drive in every direction. The owners live in the building next door. They speak French, English, and German, and were friendly and full of local outing tips without ever intruding. We really enjoyed chatting with them now and then. The honey and farm-fresh eggs were delicious too, thank you! We had a wonderful family holiday at Belle Fontaine. Its quiet, secluded spot surrounded by greenery and the old building's country charm suited us perfectly. The accommodation had everything we needed, with lots of useful things in both the kitchen and bathroom. Many thanks to Stephanie and Marcel for making our time in Brittany so lovely. Their place played a big part in that. Best wishes, Verena Sammler and family.

There was so much to see and do within a 30-minute drive. We stayed for a week, and Stéphanie looked after us so well. Breakfast was superb, especially the homemade honey. A really lovely stay.

The hosts were lovely, and breakfast was generous, with fresh ingredients. The place itself is beautiful, the rooms are very pleasant, and I'd highly recommend it.
