The location on the main square is great, and the staff were friendly enough. But the rooms are very old and run down, and it seems to operate like a doss house. That’s not necessarily a problem by itself, but it isn’t what you expect from a hotel. The car park is so small it shouldn’t have six cars in it. I wouldn’t stay again, since I can get better options for the same price.

The staff are very friendly, and the room was perfectly adequate for a good night’s sleep, especially at the back of the hotel. It’s brilliantly placed for exploring the city, right on the city square. Driving to the back entrance through the steep one-way streets is a challenge, so a good satnav, like Google, is really needed. The parking area is small, so it’s best to reserve a spot before arriving. The lift is one of the smallest I’ve ever seen, enough for two friends or one person with a suitcase.

The location is excellent, and from outside it looks like a lovely heritage building. Still, it feels more like a government-funded bed for people down on their luck, and I’m not sure it really counts as a hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again.
