The bed was comfortable, but I couldn’t sleep in the room. It was too warm with no fresh air, and the AC didn’t work. The windows were blocked, so there was no way to open them. I called reception at night because it was unbearable, but it didn’t seem like anyone tried to sort it out. It’s such a shame they don’t seem to care about customers, leaving us stuck in a room with no air. The room looked okay, with the shower right by the bed, but even a comfortable bed is no use if you can’t sleep.

We only stayed one night, and unfortunately I wouldn’t return. The breakfast selection was okay, but we waited about 15 minutes for someone to help us find a bottle of water. The building looks lovely at first, though the standard rooms and hallways feel worn and badly in need of renovation. Maybe they were modern 20 years ago. The room seemed clean at first glance, but there were stains on the bathroom curtain and a handprint in the shower. The blanket was far too thick for summer, and I woke up sweating. With no other blanket, I tried to go to the car at 2 a.m., but the entrance was closed. I spent 15 minutes in my pajamas in the lobby, looking for someone and calling out, until a person came out from next door to reception.

The welcome at reception felt genuinely warm, and the team were professional and friendly. With parking just a minute away and such a central location, we’ll definitely return. Our Gold status ALL upgrade was to a wonderful duplex room beneath the old roof and the arches of the original church. The design was lovely, and the upstairs bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent too. A top-class hotel.

We liked the comfortable stay and the interesting duplex room layout. The decor choice felt unfortunate, though: its utilitarian look made some parts, especially the corridors, seem unkempt even though they weren’t.
