We left at 4 am after only a few hours because we both started feeling unwell in the room. To get any fresh air, we had to go outside. I’ve never had to leave a hotel in the middle of the night over ventilation and comfort, especially for my health. We complained afterward and never heard back. We’d booked double room #111 for one night on 17 August and arrived at 9pm. The room smelled strongly of stale air, and the adjoining empty space had a warm, damp, unpleasant odor. There was no way to open a window, and running the air conditioning full blast didn’t help. The receptionist couldn’t offer a solution. This room needs to be reviewed, as there are regulations about this.

We had a pleasant stay in a clean hotel right in the center. There are plenty of restaurants just a few minutes away, and the main sights are walkable too. The walk from the train station takes about 10-15 minutes, though it’s uphill. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was a good continental spread.

Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and the room was quiet. For a work trip, the desk was comfortable and the Wi-Fi was fast, so it was a perfect fit.

The room was roomy, the bed comfortable, and the hotel looked brand new. Breakfast had the usual Ibis options, with local cheese and an automatic orange juicer that I especially liked. Noise came through the windows, though. Mine faced a small street, and on Friday night the noise from some "happy" young people woke me several times. If you can, ask for a room that doesn’t face the street when booking.

The cold water at the entrance was always there when we needed it, a much nicer touch than plastic bottles in the room. The location was fabulous, the service excellent, and breakfast delicious. The whole stay was way beyond what we expected, and an absolute bargain. Couldn't fault it. We’ll stay again next time we pass through Poitiers.
