We meant to stay one day and ended up staying two. The staff were friendly, courteous, and efficient, and the bar had a great view over the river. It’s an idyllic little old boutique hotel, partly thatched, in Ponte Aven, one of France’s prettiest villages.

We enjoyed being back here for lunch by the river. The food was good, and we shared a lovely savoury platter. The coffee was lovely too. We stayed longer than planned, watching the world go by, and the service was good. I could park my powerchair out of the way at a table on the roadside terrace. We’d stayed before and have always liked the setting and the attractive presentation.

The owners were very friendly, and the wine was really good. It's a nice spot for a drink or a small bite, though sadly there weren't any savoury dishes in the afternoon. I would have loved to try the fish soup.

We stopped for lunch on the way from the ferry. A lovely riverside setting, with yachts, fish, and art history all around.
