The food was fresh, nicely prepared, and really enjoyable, with prices pretty low compared with the rest of the city. There are plenty of outdoor tables near the river. The service is what cost it a star: the waiters took too long, and again, there were no English skills at all.

Pont Aven is heavenly, with pretty shops and a river that's breathtaking as it winds through the main areas. Near Galerie Izart, take one of the paths down to the water to see it bubbling over those gorgeous, large pebble-shaped rocks. You could sit there all day, cool your legs in the water, and read a book. We'll definitely return to Pont Aven. PS, don't come to this part of France without a car. It's not easy to reach, and there are no cabs, Ubers, or rental car places. We stayed five days at this beautiful hotel for a wedding nearby. Our room had a deck or patio overlooking the river, and the location was outstanding, with plenty of parking. The room was OK, though a lot was already sold out in town by the time we booked. The food was superb.

The food was very nice, especially if you love seafood. It was busy, so we waited a while, which was fine, though one staff member made us feel like an inconvenience. The others were amazing, and thanks to them, we'd go back. When town is busy, this is a much better place for lunch.

We had dinner at the restaurant. My wife ordered Filet de St Pierre and I had Epole de Cochon. The sauce was the most amazing part of both dishes.
