Hôtel de France

I’m from Quebec and live in France, where I work at a 4-star hotel in Paris. I wanted a seaside break and figured, why not Pont-l'Évêque? I really liked this hotel’s charm. It’s old, and the room reminded me of a family room at my parents’ house, but everything was spotless. The staff were friendly, breakfast was generous with fresh local products, and the breakfast atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I’ve seen the negative reviews, but if you’re after luxury, I know places that cost €500 a night. For the area, I think the value is excellent. The atmosphere and quality of the bedding more than justified the price. I love this kind of country hotel with a family feel, and I’d gladly come back next time I’m nearby. Thanks for a lovely short stay.

The owner is quietly renovating this small hotel. The rooms are on the small side, but they’re very clean and quiet, and the beds are spotless. The owner handles the service and is a really friendly, attentive host. Many thanks to him.

It’s in a quiet area, just a few minutes’ walk from the center, market and beautiful church. The welcome and service were excellent, and breakfast included local products. The only small issue was the worn carpet in the rooms, which is currently being renovated. I’d happily come back.

Good location for this small hotel. It’s a little dated, but the bedding is good. Our room was next to the breakfast area, though, and it was very noisy. For €100, we’d hoped to sleep in and have some peace in the morning.
