La Cabane sur l'Eau

The lake was wonderfully quiet, and being out on the water at sunset was a one-of-a-kind experience. We could relax on the terrace, use the pedal boat, and even fish. The cabins have a sensible layout and the basics, but ours was dirty and clearly not looked after. The floor and windows could have been cleaned, even if the terrace couldn't be rinsed. The real letdown was the organization. The contact form got no answer, nor did either of my emails sent to the right address. I never got the expected confirmation that the deposit cheque had arrived, and had to call several times, leaving messages that didn't seem to get passed along properly. There was a real muddle between Duprat Concept, the leisure center, and the lakeside campsite, despite the staff seeming friendly. At 105 euros a night, even allowing for rustic comfort as part of the adventure, I expected a basic level of professionalism. It's a shame the service didn't match the price.

We had a lovely time getting away together and watching the sun go down over the lake. It's a quirky idea, and the atmosphere is really nice, even though the comfort is nothing special. I have very fond memories of it, and we had no issues with the owners. :)

Such a letdown. The cabin was filthy, and it was obvious it hadn't been cleaned. We had to go around hunting spiders before we could sleep. It's a shame because the idea itself was nice, but I definitely wouldn't recommend the place. The replies to reviews claiming that complaints are taken into account aren't true!

Sleeping on the water with ducks around was lovely, and the setting, staff, and weekend were pleasant. Still, the organization was poor, from handing over the key to getting the sanitary block code. The cabin wasn't maintained well and wasn't clean. For breakfast, fresh bread would have been much nicer than individually wrapped industrial cakes.
