Maranatha Porto Vecchio

We spent most days exploring some of the island’s best beaches, then came back to the pools at Maranatha in the late afternoon. The villas are quiet and peaceful, each with its own garden and bbq, so we mostly ate in. We had a fabulous week there with our two kids in October. It’s secluded, with amazing sunset views every night, and there are only a handful of villas. There’s no restaurant, so anyone expecting a big buffet breakfast or a cocktail bar may be disappointed. We were happy stocking our fridge from the nearby grocery. The grounds and accommodations are very eco friendly. Seeing dolphins in front of the hotel one morning was a real highlight!

We paid 370eur per night and found the place far too overpriced for what we got. We’ve stayed in many places while visiting Corsica, so we have some idea of the quality. The bedroom window wouldn’t lock, meaning anyone could come inside, and the boss never came by to explain the situation. When we arrived, the garden didn’t feel cosy at all. There were spider nets everywhere, and the outside furniture was dusty and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Inside, it felt dark and sad, like a cave, with old furniture and walls badly painted over. There were spider nets in the house too. We’d been looking forward to the stay, but now we can’t wait to leave. Very disappointing. Poorly managed place.

The garden was amazing and everything was clean. Such a lovely house and place, with a beautiful, really incredible view. I liked the people there, too. Everything was perfect 😊

We stayed for a couple of days because so many reviews said it was beautiful. It is kind of beautiful, but definitely way too expensive for the standards. We also found three cockroaches where we were staying.
