Chambre d'hotes Le Clos de Provins

Breakfast was probably the best part of our trip. Everything felt made with care: pressed butter, plain and salted, homemade marmelades and yoghurt, fruit salad, waffles, fresh-squeezed orange juice, warm milk for our daughter’s hot chocolate, and a selection of bread and pastries. Even the pressed linen napkins and cute dishes made it feel special, and breakfast was ready exactly when we asked. Francine and Jean-Jacques were such sweet, welcoming hosts. We picked this B&B for its location, and it worked out perfectly. Everything was within a 15-minute walk. Our flight between Orly and Spain had moved up a day, leaving us 26 hours in France, so we rented a car and drove what looked like an hour to Provins. Traffic made it more than an hour and a half, and I wondered what we were doing, but then we arrived around 11am. From the moment the gate opened, the place felt magical. The gardens were lovely, and the two huge pups who greeted us were very sweet. Francine and Jean-Jacques let us park, gave us coffee and our daughter some o.j., and marked highlights on a map so we could explore the village while waiting for our rooms. Francine also called to make dinner reservations for us. When we came back to check in, our two rooms next to each other were ready. Ours had a king bed, and our 10-year-old daughter had a queen bed in the other room. The bathroom in ours was modern, clean, and stocked with lovely bath products. The rooms were cute and quaint, the beds and linens were comfortable, and the furniture was in excellent condition. I’m picky, and I was very pleased with everything.

The house was cozy and had everything we needed for a peaceful, quiet stay. The hosts were welcoming, and the two dogs were sweet. We’d like to come back one day, though sadly we only got to enjoy the place until 11 because checkout was quite early.

Everything is within walking distance, and the place is in a great spot on a one-way road. It’s a lovely house with a wonderful breakfast, run by a very nice couple who have two dogs. Parking is limited, but only one family can stay at a time, so it worked out fine.

The hosts were incredibly generous, and this was one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the jewel of a town that is Provins.
