Hotel Restaurant Henry

Restaurant: I’ve been going to Henry with my grandparents Cobi and Johan almost every year, probably since I was five. I’m 20 now, and whenever I’m in France I just HAVE to go back. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is great, and they have the best fenelon and great burgers, along with lots of other good dishes. 11/10, would recommend.

We waited 23 minutes for a beer, lemonade and water that never arrived, so we left. There were only three other occupied tables, with five staff members working. At the door, the person who took our order seemed surprised we were going. Then, after ducking back inside, he followed us to the parking lot and asked us to pay, saying his boss had sent him. We had to tell him again that nothing had reached our table. That was disgracefully unprofessional. I’ve worked as a waiter and a barman, and mistakes like this can happen when it’s extremely busy, though they’re embarrassing even then. With nearly as many staff as guests, I found it very sloppy.

We were there on a day when few places in Puy-L'Eveque were open for lunch, and the Menu de Jour here was very reasonably priced. The duck was amazing, and the food was simple and delicious. The staff were very nice, and the kids menu included chicken goujons that were clearly freshly made. We had to wait a little for dessert and ask when it was coming, but I’d still recommend a visit.

We sat outside, though there’s a nice large dining room as well. The food was very good for a fair price, and the staff were friendly. A pleasant place, well worth a visit.
