Pascal and Veronique were welcoming and helpful without hovering. They left Sangria for us on arrival and had lots of suggestions for families, as well as recommendations and arrangements they could make for an older group. The location worked well, too: the beach and daily market were 15 minutes away, where we picked up oysters and fish for meals. There’s a large store about a 20-minute drive away, a charming boulangerie a 10-minute walk away, and Soulac was worth the 25-minute drive for its lovely town and beautiful beach. We were 11 adults and 9 children, all under 8, visiting from the UK, Europe, India, and the US for a reunion, and there was plenty of space. The bedrooms were spacious and well arranged, with comfortable mattresses and pillows and enough linens for different temperatures. We could all eat in the dining room, with space left for the kids to run around. We usually ate outside by the grill, at the big table under the vine-covered roof. The main kitchen is cramped, which makes sense in a house dating to 1648, but it had everything we needed for cooking large meals every night. The stairs can be difficult for anyone with limited mobility, though there are several ground-floor bedrooms. The grounds are expansive and well maintained, with a pool that was great for relaxing and playing, plus swings and table tennis. The kids loved seeing the chickens, and Veronique kindly let them help collect eggs. A perfect stay. I couldn’t recommend Le Manoir Lacustre more!

We were a large group of spoiled middle-aged men with some unusual requests, and Paul and Veronique went above and beyond to meet them. Their warm welcome and service were truly great. The Manoir is also brilliantly located for wine tasting tours on the left bank (rive gauche) of the Bordeaux region.

For our family reunion over a November weekend, the manor worked really well. Everyone could gather together, and the property has plenty of space, including large bedrooms. We made good use of the two fully equipped kitchens, the shaded terrace, and the big blue living room for cocktails on Friday evening. The large reception room was great for lunch and dancing. Véronique and Pascal have renovated the place with great taste and were very welcoming. We were delighted with the stay. I highly recommend the Manoir Lacustre for events.

The breakfast was a real treat, and we made the most of the spacious areas, shaded terrace, and sunny pool. We were here for a wine-themed holiday and loved our stay. Véronique and Pascal are welcoming but discreet, and they’ve renovated the property with great taste. I highly recommend it.

We really appreciated having a large living room and kitchen, as well as the two bedrooms we used. The owners were attentive and gave us great suggestions for exploring the region. On arrival, there was already a fire going in the stove, with wood available. Breakfast was generous, with delicious homemade jams. A very pleasant stay, thank you!
