Hôtel Saint Andre

The room was immaculate, spacious, and clean, and the staff were very friendly. You can walk to the beach and all the beach clubs. Highly recommended.

The hotel is just a few steps from beautiful „plage de tahiti” and „plage de pampelonne”, and there’s always parking available. It’s pet friendly (25 eur per night), the rooms are big, and the air-conditioning works perfectly. The place is well maintained and the service is great. The design is old style, so it may not suit you if you like modern architecture.

After our first night, the hotel told me I had to move rooms. Packing all our clothes and shifting the suitcases was a real inconvenience. My family and I went out for dinner and returned about two hours later to find the door open and its lock broken. Reception had no idea anyone had entered and damaged the lock, so they called police to document the incident. My daughter was terrified. We clearly didn’t feel safe staying in a room that had been robbed and now had a broken lock. I asked the police about moving hotels, though it was past midnight. The hotel assured me there would be no further incident and offered to move us, even though earlier that day they had said no other rooms were available besides the one we’d been moved into. A few weeks later, the hotel told me its insurer would not cover the cash that was stolen, so neither the hotel nor the insurance company would repay or compensate me. The hotel was impolite and showed little consideration. They say the robbery wasn’t their fault, but someone broke in, opened our luggage, searched our shopping bags, and turned the room upside down. They failed to provide a safe stay for my family and me, and refuse to cover our loss because of the hotel’s poor security.

We had booked two nights. After the first, the hotel asked my family to leave our room and move to another one. At about 10:30 pm we went out to dinner and returned at 12:30 am to find the door lock broken, with pieces of wood scattered on the floor. Our suitcases were open and everything was strewn around; our shopping bags and belongings had been searched too. The drawers and cabinets were all open. We were shocked. Reception didn’t know about the “robbery” until we told them. Police came and documented the room and broken lock. The owner assured us the stolen cash would be returned through insurance. Roughly a month later, the hotel said the “robbery” wasn’t its fault and refused to pay us back, while the insurance company also wouldn’t compensate us. Guests’ safety and the security of their room and belongings are the hotel’s responsibility.
