The dinner at the restaurant on our last night was a highlight, both the food and service were great. The hotel’s views are phenomenal, and it’s well placed, though you’ll need a car to reach it. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with a shower that worked well. But the view was hard to enjoy from inside, since there were no windows facing it; we had to open a small door to the balcony. We stayed three nights and were pleased in many ways, though the breakfast was shockingly poor, crowded, and made with below-average produce. The pool was very warm and busy, so relaxing there for the day wasn’t really possible, and we went to the beach instead. The rooms could use an upgrade to match the views and restaurant.

We’ve stayed in five-star hotels around the world, and this lovely little four-star boutique hotel in the hills above Rayol comes close. The views of the Trois Iles are stunning, and the staff are smiling, discreet, and attentive without making a fuss. The breakfast spread was one of the best I’ve come across, and I still wasn’t tired of the choices after seven mornings. We’ve already booked for next year.

The welcoming staff and all the thoughtful little touches made this feel like coming home. Hotel La Villa Douce has a dreamy view and sits in a naturally beautiful spot. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys that kind of setting.

Our family spent five lovely days in the suite apartment, with spectacular views. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff really friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the food and pool too. A hotel I’d happily recommend.

The breakfast choices were wonderful, and the hotel views are lovely. What really stood out was how friendly the staff were. We got back late, after the kitchen was closing, but they still went out of their way to arrange a small dinner in our room. I’d highly recommend staying here.
