Dog hair in the room was apparently part of the deal. A bonus, I guess! The rooms didn’t seem clean, and the food service felt like fast food, only less friendly. Prices were exorbitant for what you got, and the welcome was unfriendly. The management came across as contemptuous and wouldn’t accept even constructive criticism. A pretentious couple talked down to us and couldn’t be bothered to explain in basic English that service was already included in the bill. It felt like they were trying to squeeze more money out of their English-speaking guests. If that sort of treatment makes you chuckle, you might give the hipsters a run for their money. Clearly best avoided.

The pleasant setting and friendly staff were the bright spots, and the service itself was good. The menu has some nice ideas, but the concept hasn’t been developed enough and the food isn’t extraordinary. There are better options nearby. More professionalism, customer attention, and organization would already make a difference.

I only started reading the reviews after I’d sat down, and then I braced for the worst. In the end, the meal was perfectly decent and the setting was pleasant. It’s a shame that the person handling the welcome and service brings the atmosphere down, as if the turnover matters more.
