Au Lion

We got great value here and would love to come back soon. The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was outstanding. The staff were great too, and I just loved the decor. It’s a stylish boutique hotel right in the heart of one of the prettiest towns in Alsace.

Breakfast was my personal highlight, with delicious bread, coffee, other treats, and even a little surprise. The ground-floor interior is awesome, too. Our floor had a lovely table by the hallway window overlooking a fountain, and the room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, with a cute metal fan and adorable decorations. The service was friendly and helpful, and our dog was made to feel right at home. 10/10.

We left feeling like we were bothering the staff. We’d asked for a table for six, inside or outside, and the dining room was completely empty, but in the end we walked out. The owner was sitting on the terrace at a table for four with a friend and rudely encouraged us to leave. This place doesn’t seem service-oriented. Like much of Ribeauville, they seem to have tourist fatigue. The owner’s insulting response to the review says plenty about how much he values customers.

This was the best hotel we booked on our whole wine route road trip. Everything was lovely, from the location and rooms to the service and staff. Our standard double room was quite big and very clean, and breakfast was lovely. The staff were especially kind. We’ll definitely return.
