The rooms at Little Bear were clean and warm, and made a good base for exploring the region. It’s peaceful there, yet only a short walk down a narrow alley to Riquewihr’s main street. We were glad we stayed and would recommend it. If you’re taking a parking space nearby, you’ll get useful driving and parking instructions. They’re clear, but print them and look them over ahead of time: the first drive into the village can be tricky when the streets are busy with people. Our Volvo XC60 squeezed through the parking entrance, though it was close on both sides, so a similar or smaller car may be best.

The two balconies look out over the rooftops of Riquewihr and across to Germany, while the bedrooms face the famous Schoenenberg vineyard. The views really take your breath away. Le Grand Cerf is in a great spot, less than a minute from the main street and about two minutes from the wonderful Boulangerie, Kouglhopf & Cie. Inside, it’s cosy and traditional, with wooden beams, lovely decor, comfortable beds, chairs and sofas, and thoughtful, high-quality equipment. There’s plenty to do in Riquewihr, from wandering around the village and tasting wine to walking through the vineyards to nearby villages, then taking the bus back, or heading by bus to Colmar. We had a beautiful, relaxing and inspiring stay. Thank you.

The standout for us was the personal care from Jean-Paul Krebs, his nephew Pierre and Valerie at reception. If you need something, they really do their best to make it happen. This was our third visit with Remparts de Riquewihr, and every stay has been better than the last. This time we had a one-bedroom apartment built into the old walls, looking across the grand cru vineyards. The outside has lovely half-timbered walls made with four-centuries-old wood. Inside, it’s beautifully decorated and updated with modern wiring, plumbing and fire safety.

Hart is a comfortable upper apartment right in the old town. The two balconies make it feel more spacious, and the kitchen is well equipped. The nearby boulangerie is just a short walk away for delicious croissants. Recommended.

Valerie, who manages the owners’ property, met us there and explained what The Little Dragon offers, along with places to see in the village and nearby. We could explore both north and south from this central spot, then return to enjoy Riquewihr and the apartment each evening. We’ve visited Riquewihr with my wife several times a year for six years, and I’d recommend this place for a relaxing holiday. I’ve stayed in several of Jean-Paul K’s apartments and can’t fault them. Each has its own style, is furnished to a high standard, and feels like a home away from home. He has different options for various needs and budgets, so take a look at i-love-riquewihr dot com before choosing. Thanks again for making our stay so good. The Little Dragon is in the centre of the village, but still gives you privacy, with the main street only about 30 seconds away on foot. It was as pictured, very clean inside, well decorated and maintained in keeping with the character of the place and village. It’s fully equipped, and the internet, heating and hot water all worked well. There’s private secured parking if you need it. We also recommend eating at Au Trotthus and Asian Tapas.
