Dinner was great, and the owners were super nice. The village itself is lovely, though there isn’t much to do beyond walking since there are no bars, restaurants, or other activities. The hotel’s in a nice old building, but it could use better upkeep. The garden especially looks abandoned, with deteriorated furniture left around. It’s a shame, because it could be the best area of the hotel if it were kept in order.

Stephane and Morena gave us a warm welcome and made our family’s stay at Chateau de Riverie pleasant. It took a bit of effort to find the place, but once we arrived, we felt well looked after. Dinner was delicious, and the homemade yogurt at breakfast really stood out. We stayed with our two children and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and hospitality.

We paid 600 euro for three nights, which felt like great value compared with other chateaus we’ve stayed in during our holiday. We didn’t hold back on anything. The room and bathroom were super clean, and the attention to detail and service were the best we’ve had in France so far, even though we’ve been coming for a long time. On arrival, they seated us in the garden with fresh strawberries, cheeses, cold cuts, and a glass of wine. The food was excellent too. We’re used to eating well in France, but chef Stephane is a real pro. After one dinner in Lyon, we wished we’d stayed at the Chateau to eat instead. We had an amazing long weekend and plan to come back next year.

The rooms were comfortable, and the hosts were helpful and capable. We had an amazing two days, with the best food we’d eaten in France in the past few weeks. I’m looking forward to coming back.

The rooms are big, perfectly clean, and comfortable. Valérie and Guy are great hosts, and the view over the Rhône-valley toward the Alps is fantastic. A lovely place to relax.
