We were staying at Etape Zen for a friend’s wedding at La ferme du coudray. The room felt like a home away from home, and the family made us feel welcome as temporary guests. Sandrine was helpful and trusting, and even drove us to the train station in Illiers-Combray when we left. The mother of the house kindly ironed my shirts, despite the language barrier. They also served a lovely breakfast to start the day. Great people, thanks again, Sandrine. Á bientot!

Etape Zen made a cozy, secure base for exploring the historic places on foot while I was in Illiers-Combray looking for Marcel Proust. I’d stay here again if I came back to visit Aunt Leoni’s house.

Breakfast was generous and thoughtfully put together, and the room was lovely and well equipped, with a spotless bathroom. The welcome felt personal and warm. The bed and breakfast is in a beautiful villa with a wooded park and large garden, in a quiet spot near the center of Illers-Cambray. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.
