Mas de Rey

We loved being able to sit in the garden when the weather was nice. It’s a lovely countryside spot with its own animals, and the welcome was friendly. Everything was great, especially given it’s less than fifteen minutes from the center of Avignon.

Looking back at the photos from our few nights here in summer 2021, I still have fond memories of this beautiful, peaceful countryside spot, with its animals, plants, scents, light, and lovely pool. We enjoyed our stay and were grateful for it, and we’d be glad to return. There were some drawbacks, though. A number of things seemed neglected, the sink was broken, the kitchen was dirty, and our rooms weren’t the best. The room with the garden and balcony went to some French guests. Breakfast at a table shared with strangers won’t suit everyone. Getting around the countryside was tricky too, with all its roads and intersections, and it wasn’t ideal for excursions. There were donkeys, chickens, geese, a dog, rabbits, birds, and more.

Gilles, the owner, was incredibly welcoming and gave us great tips on what to see nearby. We had a fantastic stay in Provence, surrounded by beautiful gardens and amazing animals, including pigs and donkeys. We’ll definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to our friends.

We were only passing through for one night, and Gilles gave us a warm welcome and some advice on finding a restaurant. The next morning, though, breakfast was laid out on the table and nobody was there. A shame for a B&B 🥲.
