Hotel Mercure Roscoff Bord de Mer

Roscoff is very tourist focused, so for ordinary shops and supermarkets we drove ten minutes to St Pol-de-Leon. I wanted to stock up on French food and wine to take home, and the two big supermarkets had everything I needed. For the ferry, it was an easy six-minute trip to the terminal for our early 7:30am check-in. We arrived for a ‘Heritage weekend’ across Europe. We parked on the street for 30 minutes to unload our bags, then moved the car. Parking is very expensive in Roscoff, €44 a day in the central area where you’ll realistically want to be. The hotel has a private car park, which I really suggest booking because it’s cheaper and totally secure, though it’s a five-minute walk from the property. A very professional woman checked us into our two rooms and explained everything. We chose breakfast for the first morning. I think the rooms had recently been renovated. They were good quality, with walk-in showers and comfortable king-size beds. There’s no air conditioning, but the windows open, which worked for me. The usual room amenities were there, though no milk for tea if that matters to you. We ate at a local seafood restaurant two minutes away and loved it both nights. The hotel restaurant is a nice room overlooking the bay, and breakfast is served there too. Breakfast was the only letdown. The quality was average at best, which is a shame given how good French bakeries are. There were hot options, but it was busy and they couldn’t keep up with demand. Next time I’d just go to a tabac or bakery for a quick bite. Overall, a good stay, and I’d use this property again.
