Nathalie and Jean-Charles were fantastic hosts, and the breakfast they served in their beautiful family kitchen was wonderful. They also gave us several great suggestions for things to see and do around the city. The location is handy too, no more than 5 minutes from the centre of Roubaix and 20 minutes from Lille by metro. The home feels like something out of grand designs, and everything was impeccably clean. Our generously sized room could sleep up to 5 (!), and the beds were lovely, with no cheap mattresses. If you’re after a relaxing few days, you’ve found your place.

We’d definitely stay again. Nathalie and Jean-Charles were super nice and helpful, the place was sparkling clean, and breakfast was great. The stylish house and rooms felt cosy and comfortable, too. There are parking spots right outside on the street, and it’s a few minutes’ walk to shops and restaurants. I really appreciated being able to store my bike in the garage. Highly recommended.

Roubaix turned out to be more interesting than expected, with villa Carvois nearby and the Piscine museum. It was a very good base for a weekend in Lille. Nathalie and Jean-Charles’ house is very nice, designed by Jean-Charles and full of unexpected qualities. They made us a very good French breakfast in their beautiful kitchen.

The location made it easy to get to the Metro and a really good outlet shopping centre. At La Porte Rouge, the hosts made me feel right at home, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I had a fantastic stay and look forward to coming back in the near future!
