Le Donjon De Rouen

The exhibition was set up to show how the Nazis might have kept the place after their 1944 invasion when I visited. It was a really interesting story and display. The exhibitions change every two years.

The man at the entrance was kind, cheerful, and polite. I visited the Donjon tower on the 31st of December, and while it looks amazing from outside, I didn't find the inside worth much. It only opens on weekends and there wasn't really anything to see. We were told it serves as an escape room from March till November, which sounds interesting, so a visit then could be worthwhile.

Joan the Arc was imprisoned in this tower while waiting for her trial, and it also played a part in the WWII resistance movement. Today, though, there isn't a museum and you can't go inside. It's basically a five-minute photo stop. The tower is about a 15-minute walk north of Rouen center, with nothing else to do in the area, so you can decide if the detour is worthwhile.

It was closed when I went on a Wednesday, so I couldn't look inside. I did see it from the outside and added another Joanne D'arc milestone.
