Les Boréales – Appart’hotel & Restaurant

Just right for an overnight stop. The rooms were perfect, with air conditioning and a swimming pool, and the meals were good.

The room was spacious, including the bathroom, and looked nice, though it felt more like a small studio than a hotel room. There were no sockets either side of the bed for charging phones, no air conditioning, and the windows offered little privacy. That wasn't an issue for us since we were only passing through. One small but pretty awful detail: the toilet paper was much too thin, so the hotel should change brands. Breakfast didn't suit us. There was an acceptable selection if you like sweet food in the morning, but very little if you want to avoid it, so it comes down to personal preference. The spa seemed to cost extra, and we didn't go. It's about a 10-minute bike ride from central Rouen, with bike rentals across from the hotel. Paid parking is behind the building. It's handy for a one-night visit to the city, but we wouldn't have wanted to stay longer because it lacked the hotel experience we enjoy.

We were very happy with our stay in the cozy fourth-floor apartment, especially with its lovely rooftop terrace. The pedestrian area was about a 20-minute walk away, and the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The place was clean. We enjoyed the restaurant food, and the portions weren't too big. Breakfast was a small buffet but delicious. Thanks for having us!
