Residence Rokia

The owners are kind and always ready to help. The apartments are well equipped and just a 5-10 minute walk from the shops. Excellent value for money, I'd highly recommend it.

Apartment 213 was clean, spacious, practical, and very well equipped. The owner was kind and accommodating, taking time to chat and give us advice for our stay. The residence is in a lovely area with a small river, but if the sound bothers you, the double glazing means you can't hear it. There's a terrace for eating too. It's a peaceful place, and if I'm in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

I felt at home from the first day. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. I'd definitely go back!

What stood out most was how clean the Rokia Residence in Royat was. Not a bit of dust, even under the living room sofa, no damp or mold in the bathroom, and no grease on the kitchen walls. The fridge and oven were clean too. The hosts clearly care about guests' comfort and were friendly, polite, and attentive. They really want tenants to have a good stay, so I'll tell people I know about the Rokia Residence and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice holiday spot near Puy-de-Dôme. The bedroom, living room, and kitchen all have breathtaking mountain views and get plenty of natural light during the day. When it gets too hot, opening the windows lets a breeze move through the rooms. The kitchen has everything you could need, from a toaster, coffee maker, microwave, conventional oven, and blender to different knives, pans and lids, colanders, plates, bowls, glasses, and a large trash can. The living room is nicely decorated without feeling cluttered. There's a TV area with a sofa, coffee table, and flat screen TV, as well as a dining area with a large round table and four chairs. Being under the roof makes the visible floor space feel bigger. The bedroom has plenty of room, a large closet with clean bedding, and a spacious, very comfortable bed. The bathroom is functional and clean, with a shower, toilet, medium-sized sink, and all the essentials. It felt less cozy than the rest, perhaps because of the lighting or the visible water heater, but that wasn't too bothersome since cleanliness is what matters most. There's private parking at the entrance, and you can see your car from the bedroom window. It's easy to get by car to Puy-de-Dôme and Clermont-Ferrand. There are many hiking trails to the west and quite a few small castles to visit in the area. Château de Murol, south of Royat, is less than an hour's drive away, very nice and a must-see. A car is necessary, though you can walk to Clermont-Ferrand in 45 minutes via Chamalières. Royat itself has things to see too, including the thermal baths, casino, and lovely parks. One small drawback: you reach the rooms by external stairs that pass two shared terraces. Be extra careful when it's wet, since the stone steps get slippery.
