Hotel De Diane

The restaurant was a highlight: freshly prepared food was just right, and the service was there when needed without hovering. There’s a good wine list, too. Breakfast is self-serve, with plenty to eat and drink. The hotel, built in 1925, has been thoughtfully renovated in recent years, with tastefully decorated lounges and a locally made chandelier in the restaurant. Our room was spacious and spotless. Outside, the south-facing garden deck gets lots of sun, with shade from well-placed trees. The drop-off area makes unloading easy, and there’s plenty of parking beside the hotel. The town is small enough to explore on foot, and nearby places are easy to reach by car with plenty to see. We’ll stay here again and have already told friends about it.

The setting is lovely, close to the sea and a couple of restaurants. The hotel’s own food is excellent, as you’d expect at this level. Alcoholic drinks were a bit pricey, though.

The food was the best part for me. Breakfast was a generous buffet with lots of regional products to choose from, and don’t skip the restaurant, the dinners are exceptional. The hotel is gorgeous, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It also makes a great base for exploring the region.

We spent four nights here in early June 2024 and had a fantastic stay. The staff were professional and friendly, and the hotel was clean and well kept, with a nice 1920s feel. Breakfast was good, and dinner at the restaurant "1925" was very good too. Sables D'Or Les Pins has a relaxed seaside feel in summer, with watersports, restaurants, bars and small shops. I suspect it’s much quieter in winter, when many places may be closed. The hotel is also well placed for seeing northern Bretagne, including beaches, "Caps" and Côte de Granite Rose. We’d happily return, probably soon, and I’d recommend staying here.
