The hotel itself is lovely, with beautiful decor and a room that was sparkling clean. We preferred the location to the hotels nearer the zoo: it’s just a three-minute walk from the town centre, so you can see the castle and wander around for the views. We’ll definitely come back.

We had a beautiful view of the river from the hotel, and the parking right beside it had plenty of spaces. It’s also in a handy spot for the centre of Saint Aignan and the Loire Valley castles, with restaurants, small shops and a boulangerie nearby. You can walk to the Saint Aignan biscuiterie and a pharmacy too. The decor is lovely, maybe the nicest hotel for visitors to Beauval Zoo. The restaurant has good, varied food and works well for families. Staff were always friendly, pleasant and helpful. The hotel and its services were excellent value for money.

The rooms are large, the internet connection is great, and it’s quiet at night. There’s a TV in the room, plenty of space in the car park, and the zoo is close. The all-you-can-eat buffet, separate bistro and restaurant, and friendly staff cover pretty much everything you could ask for. We ate at the Veracruz restaurant, where the food and wine were both good. One suggestion for management: ease up on the Mexican stereotypes. As a Chilean, I found the music too stereotypical. The hotel is beautiful enough without that.

What a great trip. The hotel was brand new, super clean, and the bright-coloured decor looked amazing. The buffet was delicious and had loads of choice.
