Le Chat Botte

The accommodation was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and the natural water pool was lovely. We felt so welcome, and the breakfast was delicious. The garden was beautiful too. The receptionist is taking us to our new place! Such kind people, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

We loved the clean rooms and the garden, especially being able to have breakfast or relax beside the pool. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. It’s a cozy, very nice hotel right in the centre, with some lovely restaurants nearby and the local market right outside each morning. I can definitely recommend staying a few nights.

We loved breakfast on the terrace in the garden. The buffet had lots to choose from, including scrambled eggs and bacon, cheese, charcuterie, local jams, apple sauce, pancakes and viennoiserie. The staff were very friendly, and we rented electric bikes in perfect condition. The hotel can also arrange massages and other treatments at its spa and wellness, though we didn’t use those services. The bed was very comfortable, with lovely extra pillows, and the room was beautiful, with a classic wardrobe whose door hinges squeaked a lot. There was a separate toilet. Le Chat Botté is a charming hotel in the heart of Saint-Clément-des-Baleines, near the church and some good restaurants. The garden is beautiful, with a nice natural pool and comfortable sunbed. Free parking is available in a nearby field, about a three-minute walk away. We did notice a strong sewer smell in the corridor to our room several times. The bathroom was nice and the shower very good, but it was hard to dry and ventilate, and high humidity had led to some mold in the shower cabine. After our first evening out, we saw the cleaning staff come in and use bleach on it. We also liked the bath and body care products the hotel provided.

I asked for a glass of local rose, and the barman chilled my glass and let me taste the wine. Both the drink and the service were perfection.
