B&B HOTEL Rouen Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray

I paid for a stay I couldn't use because I entered the wrong booking date, and they wouldn't correct it. When I asked for an invoice for that unused stay, they refused that too. The service was rude and unprofessional, completely unlike what I'd expect from a B&B chain. I can only give this 0/10. There are other places nearby worth considering.

We needed two rooms for five of us, one family room and one double. The rooms were much smaller than at other B&B hotels we've stayed in over the years. The family room was on the ground floor, with its entrance outside. Its flimsy window couldn't safely be left open, since someone outside could get in. There were hairs, possibly dog hairs, on two of the three beds, and a stain on one bottom sheet. At least the mattresses were comfortable. We checked in at the desk with a woman; at the same time, another guest couldn't get the automated system to recognize their booking.

The dog was welcome, and we found room for the dog beds, which was a plus. It's a handy place near the motorway for an overnight break on the drive to Calais. Our room was compact but had what we needed, including a big, comfortable bed. We had a great stay and would come back.

We stay at these hotels regularly, and this was the first time we've had a security concern. The reception door and the main car park gate were both left open all night, which rather defeats the point of a secure car park.
