The rooms were spacious, quiet, and very clean, and breakfast was both plentiful and really good. Breakfast was generous and enjoyable, and the cleanliness is remarkable, spotless everywhere. We arrived by bike to a home that feels as warm as Pascal and Ophelie, who greeted us so kindly. They've completely renovated and modernized their guesthouse, with each room having its own look and thoughtful decorative details. Everything is well planned, and you soon feel at ease in their home. Do take time to explore the countryside; it may pleasantly surprise you. There is a spacious living area with a pool table, though it's basically the owners' own living room and guests don't have a separate entrance. Getting to any activity or restaurant takes a 20-30 minute drive, as the place is quite out of the way. We got a lukewarm welcome, and the service could be better. The rooms themselves are fairly large, recently renovated, very clean, and tastefully decorated.

We had a very pleasant stay, and the Charente-Maritime region is well worth a visit. Our hosts, Ophélie and Pascal, were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Véronique and Roger from St. Malo.
